Follow me on my journey as I build (well not literally ME build) 3 villas/units on a R40 zoned block in Westminster. We bought the block in 2007 and have rented out the 4 bedroom/2 bath home on it. We have decided that the building industry is nice and quiet at the moment and therefore it's the time to demolish and build 3 units. Fingers crossed a quiet building industry = fast building times and more competitive pricing from builders.
Our block is 805 sqm on a corner - roughly 30 x 27. Originally I was thinking to have 3 houses all facing one road, but have in the end decided to go for 2 facing one road, and one facing the other.
After visiting many builders and finding I knew more about R Codes than some we have finally chosen our builder - Inspired Homes. They are a small builder and build quite a lot of units in the area with a great level of finish. To be honest the villas will have a nicer finish than our own house - sob!
